E-mark Definition/Information (2006-11-05)

 
 
E-mark originated from the regulation effected by Economic Commission of Europe, short for ECE. So far there are 28 European countries in ECE, including countries in EU, some countries in Eastern Europe and South Europe. E-mark is a recommended regulation, though not mandatory by ECE for European countries. E-mark certificate concerns products like accessories or system components and car lamps are one of the products among its concern.
 
The product needs to undergo test and inspection to ensure the quality before attaining the certificate.
 
The testing execution is generally conducted by the Technology Service Agent of the ECE member countries and the E-mark certificate is conferred by government dept. of ECE member countries.
 
All the ECE member countries accept inspection record and certificate in accordance to the ECE regulation.
